Cannot get the damn carb cap on

As much as I fiddle with it the stupid cap for the carb will not thread on. I can thread it on without the TORS system and spring attached. Anyone have a trick to getting this on? Its literally the only thing stopping me from putting my blaster back together! Thank you guys!

Are you lining up the notches on the slide and inside the carb so the slide goes all the way down ?

yes it is completely seated

Ok so I guess I solved the problem for now. I think that the carb is stripped so I wrapped the threads with one layer of duct tape. Threaded the cap on and tightened it down with channel locks. (very tight seal) No wobble or popping off the threads so I hope I can run it like that. Worst case Ill get banshee carb or try to find a cheap one! Thanks for the input guys!

Why would it full throttle if its tight? I tried smack it with a rubber mallet to make sure the problem didn't reoccur and it looks good

I cant see your next post. only in email. Do you know where I can find a cheap OEM carb? Im just annoyed because I just rebuilt it. I am just getting it running at this point. I will fix it later on.
