I just bought a 2004 blaster that didn't have rear brakes. The pads were already removed so I brought new pads and new caliper pins. I remove the caliper and put the new brake pads in. I tightened the pads into the caliper. Before doing this though I did make sure that the brake fluid reservoir cap was off and that the piston was pushed all the way into the caliper. I spread the brake pads and put them back onto the rotor now I have a gap in between the caliper and the bracket that It mounts to
