anyone running 400ex front shocks i was wondering how stiff they are compared to like banshee front shocks or yfz i already have aftermarket a arms to make them fit

from what ive heard and read they go like this... blaster shocks are the worst.. banshee is a little bit better.. 400 ex is a good improvement... but 450 shocks are basically racing shocks straight off the bike so they would be your best improvement over stock but they are also the most expensive go figure.

I have the 450r shocks and they are the tits I can't justify paying 1500 bux for Elkas when all I do is fly off dunes and a little bit of racing here and there but for the money the 450rs are well worth it mine were 120 on eBay hell of a deal and they ride like a pornstar I recommend them plus do the 400ex rear shock as well best rear suspension upgrade you can do next to a +4 swingarm

i had yfz 450 fronts they were too stiff for me for trail riding thats why im asking about the 400ex shocks i can get them cheap i got he 400ex rear already

Stock 400ex's are pogo sticks.....

But if you can snatch up a set of aftermarket 400ex shocks ( ie elkas peps ect....) and then run them on the correct a-arm set up ( long travels ) you'll be riding on a cloud.

just pick up a set of yfz 450 shocks for cheap on ebay and get a set of +3 long travel arms and u will still be way under the price of a set of elkas and have an awesome riding quad

they ride like a pornstar
so they are super bouncy?

and stock yfz450 shocks are stick if you are small. plus they need to be ridden hard. just cruising around, even on the 450 they are hard.
but the best shock for any quad, is aftermarket shocks that are set up for you weight and riding style. like works, elkas, peps, ect.

i can gaurantee u yfz shocks are not stiff if u use + 3 arms in front and a + 4 swinger i bought mine off of here and the guys i got them from had the springs as loose as they would go i had to tighten them up quite a bit for my liking and i only weigh 140

i ridden a stock yfz450, just cruising around, it was a hard ride. but when pushing it, it felt like it should.

i agree a stock yfz does ride hard but it also doesnt have plus 3 arms and swingarm like i do im just saying if u have those mods there the perfect shock

yeah i had the yfz 450 s was to hard for hard for the trails jumping was good so noone recommends the 400ex shocks ? i already have +3 a arms to make them fit

I'd keep the yfz shocks and adjust them to your liking. Back down the preload and comp and they'll soften up

they were as soft as can go and still were to stiff for my liking thats why im asking about the 400ex shocks just need a softer shock
