am i really gaining power?

okies..... from stock to sst pipe... big power difference.

never had stock reeds, so i can't compare that.

i know my .040 bore has no power gain.

so... here is my question

1.should i notice a gain with a uni filter / air lid removed / and rejetted?

2.and will i notice a gain with a 30mm d-slide carb? (stock is on now)


i did the uni/lid/jet today... but, did not really notice a gain.. maybe a teeny bit more low end torque (maybe)

on a positive note, i think my jetting is spot on. nice caramel colored sparkplug after a test.

like you said with the filter and rejet very little gains, mabe better throttle response and a bit snappier. With a bigger carb you should feel a bigger gain, because it allows more fuel air mix to get into an already air starved engine caused by the piss poor air box design. The more air you get to your engine the more power you get!
