i took my cylinder to midway yamaha. They told me that it needed resleeved a 250.00 repair. I put an add on craigslist and got a stock cylinder with piston and rings for 75.00. I can't wait to get my blaster running. I was told by yamaha from him just seiing cylinder and piston that my crank is bad, even though it will not move up and down when in the top most position. I think he just wanted to make a 1000.00 off of me for a rebuild.

Yep, Sounds like a F job to me. Get a second opinion if you can. If he happens to be telling the truth then putting that top end on is piontless. Maybe place some pics on here, some of these guys know what their talking about and could tell you if the marks on stuff mean a crank problem. I would'nt put that top end together until you KNOW the crank is ok.

I got a new top end. second kick fired it up. It is all stock i got it used for 75.00. jug head piston and rings. all for 75.00
