    DirtBlaster03 Rebuild

Just thought I'd start my own thread for my rebuild. I've posted a few pics in another section of the SCD a-arms that I'm installing. Other things I'll be doing: new chain and sprockets, new front brake lines, 3+3 axle, rewiring the entire machine and possibly a new stator is need be. I'm...

What am I doing wrong here?

So I'm finally finding time to work on the blaster. Starting up front with the SCD a-arms. The problem I'm running into is the angle of the tire. I'm a lil rusty on terms but I think the camber is too positive. The top is farther out than the bottom. Is this a shock issue (shocks are off a...

    Ball joint removal help

I'm pretty sure I'm lookin at the ball joint anyway. Can't seem to get it off. Any tips or tricks? So far I've tried a pry bar and 2.5 lb sledge. I'm not trying to save them so I'm not worried about threads. Any help appreciated.

Why are these shocks so cheap?

15 3/4" 400mm Pair Air Front Shock Absorber Yamaha YFZ 450 Banshee ATV Quad Blue | eBay There's a bunch of these that keep coming up when searching YFZ450 front shocks. So why are these shocks so cheap. They're more than half price of other YFZ450 shocks. That leads me to believe they're...

    35mm PWK or V Force 3 reeds

Heres what I got so far. FMF Fatty, K&N w/ air box lid removed, oil block off (mixing 32:1), OKO 30mm carb, and Nology Hotwire and coil. My idea was to stay under $300 for these coming additions and that includes ~$100 for new chain and sprockets, 60 for a seat, and maybe a new stator if needed...

Ignorance level is in the mid 8's

I've been out of the game for a while. I've been trollin around the forum and I keep running into a couple terms that are over my head. Please forgive me but: Plug chopping is to change out the carb jetting, run the bike and check the plug for adverse effects? Trial and error, right...

    '03 Complete Rebuild Question

My 03 Blaster has been neglected for quite a while (about 2 years). I installed a Nology Hotwire kit a couple years ago and couldn't get it to start afterwards. Since then it has been sitting in the back yard and my dog has chewed some very important wiring. A couple months ago I tore it...

    Complete Rewire on an '03

Any tips on a complete wipe of all wires... basically starting from scratch. I'm going to add a Nology hotwire and coil. My TORS is removed but I'd still like the use of the head light. I'm tryin to wrap my brain around this whole thing but it's givin' me a headache. Of course it doesn't...

I have an off-brand 30mm carb. Ever since I installed it the bike wont idle at all. Other mods include FMF SST pipe and silencer, and K&N hard air filter. I need help with jetting. I don't really feel any power difference what so ever. And if anyone knows how to mess with the idle. Its...

    Throttle cable troubles

I just put in a new carb today. Now every time I try to kick it the cable pops out of the spring in the slide of the carb. I've tried to RTV in there so it stays but it doesn't seem to be working. If anybody has any ideas please let me know. I would love to riding tomorrow! lol

New rider with a new blaster

I just got an '03 Blaster, my first quad. I've riden dirt bikes and street bikes for the past 5 years but this is completely different. When I got it I figured it'd be pretty easy to tune and make it a little bit quicker. Boy was I wrong. I've never touched a 2-stroke before (aside from a...
