I recently traded one of my bikes for a banshee, the rear shock needs rebuilt, I was quoted $160 locally without wear parts, seems quite high. On a tight budget, anyone know of a cheaper suspension shop, or have a used shock that works and don't leak I can buy

so reading the clymer manual for it i see that the alignment marks on the case and stator are for preliminary timing setting. there is another mark on the flywheel that should also align with the stator mark when the piston is in a certain position. apparently the preliminary position worked...

thanks for the link for the puller, not sure if that will work on mine it says 95-2010? i pulled the flywheel cover, and i can see around the flywheel that the stator alignment mark is perfectly on the case mark, also the flywheel doesnt appear loose and i can turn the crank without it having...

yeah i can steal a boot from the 2000. the 88 boot has the beginnings of cracks that dont leak, but i dont want to use it, especially after this. so that still leaves me with one boot for two blasters

good work blaaster, have some rep for probably saving me from blowing er up. after a thorough investigation of the boots for possible air leaks i found a crack on the bottom of the reed cage boot. it must have been weak there and finally cracked the last time i had the carb off. sh*t the bed...
