Hi guys. I just joined the forum. Marinus from south africa. I build and modify cars. I received a 99 blaster as a gift 3 years back. Due to some issues it barely drove and stood under alot of old vehicle interior for two years. I recently got a donor bike that was crashed. Im rebuilding my scrappy and modding and painting as i go. The donor had ALOT of good parts and good brands on. I will post my project from the start. I also want to give credit on mods and info that this forum helped me with. Thank you!!

Ok so bare in mind with this build up to now, this is purely from donor and and existing parts. I did replace bearings and seals as i needed to and i machined some of teh stuff myself. Suspension mods are done and built myself. I figured if can build a suspension for a small hatchback thats capable of handling 300kmph +i can do it for a blaster. Fitting new spec parts to an old spec frame isnt as user friendly as i thaught.

best thing to do is make a photobucket account, then upload photos there. Once uploaded on the right side of the photo page will be a "IMG" link. click that. it will auto copy the link. Then come over here and past the img code. thats the best way to upload photos.

Welcome Marinus, nice to see some more SA Ingenuity on here! Loks like you have your work cut out for you on that bike, where are you based?

Great im in East London, Eastern Cape. You are never done when it comes to quads my friend, there is always the next thing! I recently did a ride through the Wildcoast and toasted my piston again... (head gasket developed an airleak somewhere along the way) Looking to fit a WR200 motor now.

So i stripped down the blaster to a empty frame. As i assemble i clean and replace whatever must be replaced. Which basically was the 2220 bearings in the back and the seals. I campared the original and donor parts and only used the best condition parts.
