a while back I bought a 1998 blaster. It was running at the time so I got it for 900 with some extras like sprockets, disks, brake pads, clutch plates etc. so I rode it for a good while but then my while my brother was driving it it shut off and that was rebuild time. The next day I opened up the engine and saw shavings and noticed that the case was cracked bad. And I found out I needed a new piston, connecting rod, case and more. I ordered parts it came out expensive but still cheaper than what my cousin paid for rebuilding his raptor 350. I had a little help from my dada and a local mechanic while rebuilding it. After I got it together I had adjust my brakes and that took a while. Then I found out the threads on the carb body were stripped but it still worked kind of.

Today I got a new carb thanx to deeeebeeeeee and took off the swing arm. I found out that I need new bushings and seals and bearings for the swing arm. And my on off gas switch thing doesn't work. And I'm wondering if one from a Xr 50 would fit?

Today I took off my fenders and am starting to sand them to give them a better look. And now I need a new braket thing that holds the front fenders on the bottom. So I'll see if I can get one made.

The fuel petcock as it is called, can be rebuilt with new seals and gaskets as long as the hard parts are good. Otherwise about anything that will bolt up without leaking will work, but I would want the filter tube and the reserve tube that stick up into the tank to be the same size. As far as I know the blaster uses a standard one , where the banshee with its dual carbs gets a high flow petcock.

The fender mount wouldn't be hard to make pm me if you want me to measure mine, you could use a 1/8 by 3/4 sTeel bar or 1/4 x 1 inch aluminum or similar. IIRC it is straight through the middle with a slight upward bend at around 1/3 and 2/3 its length.
Basically you could take a straight piece of stock cut it to length and make two shallow bends at the right places, then drill holes in the right places. Hardest part would be getting a good bend at the right place and angle, but if you bend it first then mark the holes it shouldn't be to hard...

you canget a petcock off ebay for like 8 dollars. Mine was leaking like a bastard so I bought one of those cheap ones and it works perfectly, cheaper than the rebuild kits too.

I already bought myself a new Petcock already. Now I need to build the braket thing and replace the swing arm bushings and bearings.

Sounds like you are on the way, let me know if you have any trouble switching out jets and such into the carb body, not really too big of a job, all the orifices should be nice and clean.
I did not pull the needle jet and clean the bleeders, so there is you a little project if you want. I like to use stranded copper wire, and carb cleaner for the little holes , you can add or remove as little as one single strand to get a lighty snug fit, and the twist of the wires helps to free up stubborn deposits. It doesn't beat having a proper carb set, but is alot better than cab cleaner alone, just be sure not to over do it and enlarge the little holes.

Here's a few pics of my blaster.

Here's a few pics of some of the things I replaced during the rebuild.

Today kinda put a damper on things. I wiped out with my dirtbike at the track and ended up breaking my wrist so I won't be able to work on my blaster for a while.

Finally got my blaster running all good. I put a boyesen rad valve on it and it runs perfect. Just need to finish sanding my plastics. I even made my own shorty cable for the rear brakes. I'll post a few pics of that soon.
