just picked up a 97 blaster for 300 bucks from a buddy of mine. has a blown top end and i have already spoken to ken o connor about shipping it up to him to bore the cylinder for me and to purchase a top end kit from him...

But turns out its gonna need a bit more work than i anticipated.. no back brakes and the fronts are shot, no lights at all, no seat, no front plastics, exhaust couplings aren't there...

But has a new set of ITP hole shots on the back and a new carb. looks like I'm gonna have to get pretty creative on this one to save some cash

heres some pics of day 1

Looks like it had blue plastics at once. I actually have a set of blue plastics not in use. I may be willing to part with.

Yeah I see that too they were definitely blue, I was gonna try to sand em back down to the blue but I'd definitely be interested in them.... Where you located and how much you lookin for em?

Oh I see you're in west palm, not far at all, and you have any other parts?

I didn't realize you were in Ft. Lauderdale. Yea I have a lot of parts I'm willing to get rid of.

I have a rear mechanical brake in awesome shape with the shorty cable, and a seat. I also have the heel guards you need and the plastic guards that attach to them and the rear fenders. Ummm...I'm looking at your pics to see what you need. Oh and the hub for the rear brake disc. Headlight and bracket. Front drum brakes with new pads and bearings in hubs. Shocks, swingarms, axles, etc....Come get it all from me. I'm trying to clean house.

Hell yeah! What kind of price we lookin at? On a bit of a tight budget at the moment but I'm sure I can figure something out!

Well with the generosity of fast6hand I got hooked up with everything I was missing on this for an extremely fair price... Not had much time to work on her due to work and lack of a place to comfortably work but I've started Strippin the paint from the frame today posting off my phone so this'll be short But I've got pics! So here's what's she's gonna look like I'm painting the frame a bright red to match the seat. Gonna be rebuilding everything. After inspecting the engine more I found a jb weld job on the bottom of the stator side case so I'll be redoing the bottom end and finding a new left case

What color will the frame be?

i think sand blasting is easier.
although it depends on availability, my brother had his frame done for $20 and the rest we borrowed a teachers sand blast cabinent

not sure of any places around me... I honestly haven't looked into it much because I thought it would have been like a hundred bucks. But for 20 there's no reason not to!

I was planning on pickin up a brass wire wheel and some sandpaper tomorrow when I go to Home Depot. And I'm back and forth between red or black on the frame. I like the way the red looks with the blue.

After stripping and painting the frame and swing arm black i began the rebuild but i have been stuck on trying to get the rear right side hub off the axel to put the rear brake rotor assembly on there... Tried all kinds of ways even built a stand to hold it so i could beat it out but no luck... Took it to a machine shop my boss knew of this morning and got it pressed out, after seeing how much pressure it took i quickly realized id never have gotten it off on my own.

The vibrations from beating on it so much messed up the bearings in the carrier so i went ahead and changed them, i had a brand new set thanks to Fast6hand. that all went very smooth, i finally got it all back together and have a roller now.

I plan on disassembling the bottom end this week sometime and hopefully will have the time to finish that up within the next week , After that all i need is the 3-400 more that ill be giving to KOR to rebore and get a new piston, as well as rebuild my crank, and maybe have it port it and all that.

Not the best pics because it was dark but ill take better ones. Just happy to be done with that DAMN HUB!

Looking good man. I just ordered +3 +1 a arms from asr along with banshee spindles. That being said I may have some 03+ spindles for sale soon.
