Just finished top end rebuild..everything runs fine except it wont idle.when in neutral ..but before rebuild idle was fine.. i turned idle screw until it would hold idle but then it always wants to slowly idle up faster abd faster until i hav to let clutch out.any suggestions?

Most likely not. It's most likely an air leak. Leak test it, and come back with it result. Just DO NOT run it. An airleak will destroy it new New top end. If the leak test comebacks and u have no leaks, do a plug. Chop to confirm ye jetting. Why mods do u have?

Why was it rebuilt?

It is a must, that every rebuild of 2 stroke motor be leak tested.

Then if passing leak test, adjust idle before doing a plug chop.

Idle adjusting.

Start with air screw 1.5 turns out.

Set idle screw so that it has some sort of idle.

Warm up motor and then set idle screw for a fast idle.

Adjust air screw either way to get the fastest idle.

Adjust air screw a little at a time leaving 10 secs to allow the motor to respond.

Re adjust idle screw for desired idle .

It is great that it now idles.

Take a tip from an old fart, it is now time for the compulsary, after rebuild leak down test.

Then plug chop to confirm jetting, you most certainly do not want to do another rebuild.
