i an tighten that thing as tight as i want and a day or two later the thing is loose and wobbling around on the shaft.... with the bolt still tight..... is there anyway to fix this it drives me crazy to have a loose shift lever.

Sounds like it has been over tightened at some time.
Remove the bolt and run a hacksaw or fine grinding disk through the slot.
Torque bolt to 10 ft lb, no more or it will stretch again.
If this does not work you may need a new shift arm.

^^^ I have done that fix a couple times. Works like a champ. If you choose to use a grinding wheel be careful, it likes to get caught in that slot and jerk around. Put it in a vice and you should be fine.
brand new lever.... the one that was on it when i bought the bike was bent to the point where she wouldnt go into 1st so i got a new one
but i will try the hacksaw blade
