i put new axle bearings in my sons 2000 blaster and when I put the sprocket on all spins well. When I tighten the firs nut it doesn't. It seems that when the axle nut is snug to the sprocket it is pushing the sprocket into the bearing seal and it's slowing down. Am I missing something. The bearings are pressed tight to the long collar that goes between them so they couldn't be to far out. Thanks

Are you using the proper torquing procedure.

How to tighten the nuts are as followed- im not 100% sure on the torque #'s im just going off memory

tighten first nut to 40 foot pounds (against the carrier)
tighten the next nut to 140 foot pounds
back the first nut (against carrier) off at 170 foot pounds.

Ive long disposed of my stock blaster axle but shouldnt there be a spacer tube that the nut tightens against to prevent the nuts squeezing the seals and bearings? In fact there is a tube that runs through the carrier, is that tube not worn on the ends?

The inner spacer tube rides on the inner bearing races of both bearings to keep them from being pushed in too far, it doesn't contact either hub.
Tighten the nuts as above and you should be good.
