I have a 1998 Blaster and I am rebuilding the top end on it. I bought a Vertex piston kit and the wristpin that came with the piston is too big. However, the stock one that came out of the motor looks fine and slides in and out. Is this okay to use?

What do you mean to big?does new pin slide in your wristpin bearing while the bearing is in the rod with no noticeable play?if it does then it is correct. Sometimes just wiggling alittle to get it started in piston.clearance is super close.alittle 2stroke oil helps to

No, The new pin will not slide into the piston without having to apply a lot of force.

When lined up the pin should push in with your finger.
Did the pin fit in the bearing while in the rod.if it's not right. You should call and exchange it.
I see your paying attention to what your doing.thats good.
