What's up everybody, I'm new to the forum and just recently purchased a 2000 blaster, and now I can't get enough of this bike! I'm having some problems getting it to start up when it's cold... I know I need to clean it out, but after looking at the carb the cap on top is Jerry rigged bad! They put two screws in the cap to keep it from coming off... any suggestions on what I should do

Is it a regular round cap or the TORS brick on it ? DO NOT replace it with a $20 amazon POS !! You’ll be sorry. IF the threads are still good you can get a tors elimination kit. If not just look for a new carb.
Have you been using the choke for starting?
Bad reeds can be a cause of hard starting.

Highly recommend doing a leak down test!!

I have a new plug in it... I will check the reeds tomorrow whwn I get home... I will also check the threads on the carb as well... if the threads on the carb are damaged do you know we're I can get a new one? My bike has a toomey exhaust
