Hey guys just rebuitl my whole engine blaster will fire up if I hold throttle but eventually bogs and will not even think of idling have a mikuni carb and the funny thing is when I shut the gas off to the carb and it almost runs out of gas it revs out and pings perfect done cleaned carb and checked needle and air screw what am I missing

Did you do a leakdown test before you started it? Sounds like a major air leak IMO. Are you running stock carb and did you delete TORS?

No but I'm pretty sure it's sealed perfect but I will do that it just runs perfect right before it runs out of gas in the carb but will only fire if I hold the throttle

Think I found my stupid mistake the rubber blocks on the side of the motor I set the head on top of them and just need to move the blocks down one row like and idiot and rebolt the head back down

Gee,seems like a leak down test would have caught that .
7lbs for 7 minutes.

Most of the engines I've done have either held for twelve+ hours or I get tired of waiting for it to leak.

You know what they say about the word "assume" ?

Ok so maybe it wasn't the rubber blockeits definitely dumping to much gas in the combustion chamber and I have stock carb stock jet needle is set all the wasy lean and it still only runs when gas is almost gone out of carb leak down held 7 lbs for 10 min and good compression about 120 what can any of you think of please give your thoughts oh and new boysen carbon reeds thanks Mr. I love my blaster

Set the float level to 20-21.5 mm.

Make sure that the needle and seat stops the flow of fuel..

How clean is the air filter...

stock carb and jetting ?
hows the reeds ?

Air filter is new and here now with the bike might try to take a video and upload and let y'all take a gander after I check a few things
