well i decided to do a rebuild thread were tearing the whole motor appart top and bottom we are taking the top off tonight soon as i get it out of the frame

well the stroker kit got shot to hell because we are most likley gonna have to buy a new top end ill get pics up in a min

You might have a bad Rod bearing

the only play in the bearing is side to side no up and down at all

nope that piston is scrap the scratches in it are huge and it is not useable

looks to be an overheating seizure. the top also looks to have been overheated. is the inside of the piston crown black?

dont know i was pretty pissed when i seen that so i said f**ck it im not messing with it any more tonight because we just pissed$240 down the drain but i think it did over heat

well my dad is getting the flywheel puller today so we are tearing the bottom end appart today

well it defenatly overheated because on the exaust side of the piston the bottom rind is melted to the piston

well iv ran into another problem i cant get the wrist pin out of the piston any ideas on how i can get it out i was thinking pb blaster or kroil oil

i ussually would put the piston in a vise (if the piston was bad) and use a big punch and a hammer to get it out

well more problems the shifting rod is bent bad and the shifting star is broke

It does look like from the pic it was running lean.

but did the ports get chamfered ?

And the side to side play on the rod, did you feeler gauge it ?


Because I too, wonder about both of the two, I just mentioned.

I also usually use a deep well socket the same size or close to it for tapping out the rod/piston journal bearing

what do you mean chanferd
no i did not frrler gauge it but i think it is the bottom rod bearing and it did melt the ring to the piston
we have tried tapping it out i think what we are gonna do is just buy a new crank probably stock and
