low buck front hydro's

Just picked up 89 banshee front calipers. Are they direct bolt on with the K.O.R. Spindles?

NO, 1990+ only from the A-arm banshees fit the KOR and curent banshee/blaster spindles,
the 88/89 J-arm banshee calipers are different than all other 1990+,
and most other current yamaha sport atv calipers (raptor/yfz/ 90+ warrior)

How can I be sure it's 89? If it is would I be better machining my blaster spindles, machining newer banshee Spindles or modifying the k.o.r. Spindles?

it's the bolt pattern of the pre 1990 caliper brackets that does not match up to the KOR or any 1990+ yamaha sport atv spindles, the bolt pattern is wider than allowed on those spindles caliper mounting, and will not bolt on.

1990+ calipers are fairly cheap on ebay, and is a much better option than trying to re-invent what works.

up for bid....

I saw when i approved this post from moderation (which happens sometimes when new members try to post pics, until they get established) that you're using tinypic to post at least this last photo.
you must copy and paste the IMG code for forums for it to show up here.

this code on the page of the pic you want to appear.....

or just use the forums upload system following the link above

Thanks for the fast reply I read through the original how to in the faq. I'm pretty sure I did it right could it be because I'm on a iphone?

I'm pretty sure the guy was wrong about the year they look like the newer version nothing like the pic you posted.[/IMG]

i see this time before approving this post, that your copy/pasted link started with HTTP < thats the URL link to the tinypic page your pic is on,
you want to copy/paste the .IMG code down on the left beside the pic,
not the URL in the top address bar

walaaaaaaa, we have pics :)

and yes, those are 1990+ calipers and will work with the KOR spindles.

although I mentioned them fitting other spindles, including the banshee spindles they came off of, the stock modified KOR spindles are the best option for doing a hydro conversion.
others have used the banshee spindles by reaming them to fit our ball joints and other less than desirable modifications.
but thats not the safe, correct way.
the yfz/rappy and possibly the banshee spindles, are not the correct camber without the adjustability of aftermarket a-arms

Great news! So the k.o.r. Spindles work with blaster a-arms? I'll just need 90+ hubs and rotors? And I remember seeing you sell a gsxr rear brake kit do you have an adapter bracket for sale for banshee rear brakes?

yes, order the KOR spindles for the simplest, safest conversion to front hydro's
yes to 1990+ banshee hubs discs, avoid the temptation to try raptor or yfz hubs, some may work ?,
the set i tried did not, stick with the shee hubs/discs, they work.

Wondering how you mounted the lines that goes to L and R calipers. Pictures would be great. Nudge nudge.

the way I first did this back in '09 was to mix n match factory lines, and jury rig them together with auto brake line. the reasoning was the banshee upper line is crimped into the tee block and not removeable,
the raptor lines I used to the calipers are both crimped to the tee block, so connecting the tee blocks was the only solution

I now have seperate braided lines from the master to each caliper, you could also use the 1 tee'd to 2 braided lines. speedline makes both versions
these are a much better option than the hacked together stock stuff
all come in stock length or + versions for extended a-arms, and colors

held to the a-arms with brake line clamps, order them for the diameter of whatever arms you're running

I have a full set up from an 04 blaster. Just didn't know how the lines were kept in place on those. But I see now that on those they had tabs on the upper a arms for mounting. In the future I will be upgrading to diff a arms and beaded lines. But for now stock will be a huge upgrade for me as is. Thanks
