KarterPhil's 02 rebuild

news update:
I have managed to get my dad to get the carrier mounting plates and shock mounting plates for my swing arms laser cut (he works in the aerospace industry) from 6mm 4130 chromoly. Im gonna get 10 or so done so that once mine is done then i can test it and hopefully make a few of them for anyone on here who wants one for a bit less dosh ;)

Right so i managed to get in the garage for a while today (have been a bit busy recently) and i got the rounded out brake disk retaining bolts out with some innovative "re-shaping" of the heads, shown in pics.

I also got the front rims etch primed (This is only temporary as in the future i will get some dwt or itp rims) pics attached

Yea, I don't mind them if they're decent quality and aren't corroded to buggery, however i also hate cheap, corroded hex heads. So today's lesson, buy some decent bolts hehehe

I have received my cr500 studs and have wasted no time in taking the flange off of one, i also drilled the stud hole in the case out to 8.5mm ready for the 10x1.25mm tap. photos attached I:I

Sig quoted8-|! haha and how did you paint your front rims??

I knew it would happen at some point lol, i just used black hammerite brush on but it was hard to avoid drips, I intend on either buying some nice shiny rims or PC ing these after pre-season practice/testing at our private track ;)

what do the rears look like? If I were you with the painting skill that you have depending on how u like the stock rear rims is just find some cheap steel better looking rims and paint em up like yours ! they are custom and they look just as good as 80 $ plus rims!

I haven't painted my rear ones yet, they still have tires on them and they're aluminium 10 inch diameter so i might just clean em up and try polishing them. Ill get some photos tomorrow.
