4) What kind of air box set up do you have?? cut that biotch out

5) What size pilot jets are you using? dont know havent checked

6) What size main jets are you using? 330 main

5) What size pilot jets are you using? 52 Pilot like this best!

6) What size main jets are you using? 158 Main

7) What needle position? 3rd clip (middle)

The stock 230 jet was deff too lean with the lid removed, plug was white and it would run way hot. Tried a 250. Better, plug was now more of a grayish color, but it still seemed to get hot after extended higher RPM's(like going down a dirt road). Then tried a 290....way too rich. Bogging all over the place, wouldn't idle. Then a 270, which so far seems to be working out well. Plug is perfect color, idle is good.
 
Just a suggestion but it might be helpful to include all engine related mods as well so those that have porting, cranks, long rods, reeds, etc. can get a better idea of the ball park they are running at.

im haveing the same problem. my main jet is 230 and pilot is a 32.5 and 3 notch down on the needle and all my quad is back fireing and smokeing the plugs could my reeds be shot or can it be the octane of gas i am useing or the brand of oil???? plz help going nuckin futzs here

i found that most ppl on here are running with stock needle position which is middle or 3rd (i think), stock pilot, and a 270 main jet. but they are also running no airbox lid, stock carb, and fatty pipe

???? im lost how is going up is size going to help its runing to rich now...anouther person told me the samething and not to run it or ill fry the motor..the only outher thing i could think of is my reeds are shot and there allowing too much fule in and causeing it to back fire and foul plugs

any suggestions i know somthing should be changed with the k&n air filter with no air box lid any suggestions on how drastic the main jet change should be very little or alot

set up for MX, so i run rich. once cleared out and warm, it rips hard!

This is a vito's big bore +20 over w/ +3 stroker. I have an adjustable stator, boisen 2 stage reeds w/ stock reed stopper, I run 927 premixed with 91 pump gas. So where do you think I should be with everything. Any help would be great. I don't want to blow this motor up again. Thanks for you help
