idle only after stator swap

hello guy's, Merry Christmas,. ok I have a 1998 blaster, son's bike, stator went out, NO spark. After installing new one, bike starts, will only idle, can somewhat let off clutch in gear, puut around yard, give it throttle , boggs down , but stays running, idle bog. mix my own fuel, it's fresh, dude any help much appreciated, thanks

Sounds like TORS issue
Unplug brain under hood. Only piece with a 3 wire plug

all of that stuff has been bypassed, it was running great, one day stator went out,. no spark, my son replaced it, now we have spark ,starts first kick, will not revv up, stays idleing, I've went through everything he had done, all good

What brand of stator did you use? Did wire harness plug right in? Ohm could and plug cap separately .
Did he lay it on side to work on it?
