Head mod?

Ok so I know there is about a million threads on this but I wanted to ask one question.
How much should I take off the head before cutting the squish band. I saw joeak74 video and I think I heard him say he took .165 thousands. That just seems like alot. Can someone confirm that is right .
By the way I want to be able to run pump gas and my engine is stock except for a pipe and intake. Yes I will be porting the cylinder as well

Watch it again and turn it up.
Haven’t looked at a cut or uncut head in a while, but know the bottom of the head sticks down a bit, and is recessed slightly after cutting. So .165” sounds good to me.

Ok I will. Hoping to be able to find some time soon at work to throw this on the lathe just need to make an arbor for it

Does anyone know if I cut the head .165 cut an 11 degree squish band and make it a hemi head with I'm guessing what will be between 22 and 24cc chamber what my cr will be I still want to be able to run pump gas.
