good evening new guy new to us Blaster i have some questions

the boys traded a go kart for a blaster
Q#1 is the vin a sticker or actually stamped in the frame
Q#2 same for the model id tag is it a sticker or stamp
google says left lower frame near foot peg for vin
and the cross bar where the coil mounts for model
I have the motor id 3JM-2792445
looks like some thick epoxy paint has been applied
and I took a wire wheel and scotch lock wheel to those spots and there isn't a stamp in the frame there
just need to get the correct manual to rebuild the wiring harness and see if I can get it started
any help would be wonderful
 
South Texas Banshee makes harnesses. All factory style connectors. Highly recommended to get it without TORS wiring, PIA that creates more problems than it solves

COIL WIRE TO PLUG BOOT AND PLUG BOOT BOTH TESTED GOOD
CLEANED ALL GROUNDS CHECKED THE RUN / STOP SWITCH ITS FINE
THERE IS NO MAIN KEY SWITCH YET PREV OWNER SEEMED TO LIKE HACKING
WILL REPORT BACK AFTER THE BOYS GET TO WORK ON IT THIS WEEKEND

IT HAS TOOMIE EXP PIPES AND MUFFLER
STOCK CARB IS TRASHED
IS THERE A BETER CARB YOU GUYS MIGHT RECOMEND THAT HAS ALL THE OIL INJECTION JUNK ALREADY DELETED

OK we received all the new parts
installed the new coil voltage reg cdi box
no spark
the control unit was not a part of the pack like i thought
and i dont have a tool yet to pull the magneto flywheel
but the book shows to pull the control unit and see if you get spark and bam we do
added a bit of fuel and she kicked over
what does that control unit do?
it seem like it has some safety over the system going to the throttle lever and carb but those wires are long gone
is it safe to leave unhooked?

TORS delete is the best free mod you can do to a blaster !!
 
When working “properly “ it retards ignition timing to where it will never exceed a certain RPM. I guess it could totally kill it. Pre 2003 you can just unplug the brain, three wire plug under the hood, 03-06 you have to splice a wire. You’d have to search for that.
The best thing to do also is to get rid of the brick on top of the carb. TORS delete kit has carb cap, cable and idle stop screw
