Alright well it's time to start a thread! I Meet up with member, wife's blaster today to pick up my parts. I bought basically his whole suspension. Along with a a bunch of other parts, got a really good deal buying everything. So im starting with the suspension and tires first. Im also going to widen and stretch it out! Then I'll move to all the motor work, thinkin port work, and a stroker crank.

Anyways this is the parts I picked up today all of them laid out!

The tires are kenda scorpions in the back there 22" on douglas hubs! I wanna make it big and have ground clearance as I'm a bigger dude. The fronts are 21 inch on doulas hubs as well. May play with tires size after the rebuild idk for now that's what I'm running.

Then some other random parts to go with the rebuild! My brother wrecked needed some odds and ends, Handel bars, and grab bar. I also got a nice pj 34 with everything and a few jets for chopping and finding the correct main we ball parked what may need to be in there for now.

I also may be getting my hands on a lrd header! As long as the silencer works out.

You will have to cut the silencer you have to work with that LRD pipe... And weld a piece onto it to slip over the pipe. But for how good LRD is, its worth it!!

good to see ya upgrading Gavin !
he didn't have any riding boots for sale did he ?
(i had to throw that one in there, LOL)

btw....it's only the LRD adjustable pipe that needs a matching, or modified silencer, the regular LRD should take any silencer that would match up to even a stock pipe

I would have cleaned all those parts up for ya, but work has been crazy. I'll be watching this one :)

Most of your suspension has 1 ride on it, and I was there for it! They didn't even need to be cleaned im going to clean and polish everything up in the next couple days that do need it like the wheels, I been working a lot lately as well so I will do some work over the weekend!

Put the parts in my shed tho so I can clean them in the few hours of sunlight I make it home in each day!

You will be watching this one you may even be helping in this one at some point!I:I

Thanks the parts man.:D

Thanks Awk! I'll be cleaning the parts up and getting them on in the next couple days/ weeks!

It is the adjustable one I'm checking in to a flange, also testing mine 2 I have! So I will just mod up the silencer if u could point me in the right direction on how you did the f7 just for a idea that be great. I wanna try and make the lrd work. Upgrade over my fmf I think.

Im gonna get a pair them boots! I'm never living that one down. At least I where some type of boots now! Learned my tennis show lesson.

What's the best way to clean up, and polish tires and rims. I've searched and it seems everyone has there own way. I don't wanna paint them just clean them up.

Spray them with wheel cleaner and get all the surface dirt off of them. Then get a shop rag and start rubbing mothers aluminum polish on them. This will take some effort, but it will be well worth it. The rag and wheel will turn black. Then take some paper towels and buff it to a shine. I have found that paper towels give me the better finish, I used to use microfiber. You will probably have to do it two or three times. Scrub the mothers on hard by hand and hand buff it off with the paper towel. It will be a mirror finish when you are done.

Thanks! Where can I buy the mother aluminum polish at? About how much is it to. I'm gonna do the grab bar, and the other parts to!

Gonna get my plastics out and do them in the next couple days whenever I can get to storage! I have a good idea how I'm doing those tho!

So I worked 11 hours hours today but decided I would go ahead and polish up the rear hubs and clean up my tires a little. I only did the rear ones didn't get home till 7

But I have some before and agrees cleaned it up with these products: mothers polish, and this tire shine I bought to clean the wheels on my girlfriends car!

That's all I got done today.
I been working like crazy I'll do more tomorrow try for the fronts at least!

Looks good man. Told you they would shine like a mirror. Takes a bit of elbow grease, but well worth it. They will hold the shine for a long time too. We polished Woody's wheels about a year ago and they still look great.

Here's the trick for grab bar. Mount it on the bike without the rear fender. Run mothers polish on it. Now fold the rag longways a couple times. You want the rag to be about 2 inches wide. Now drape one side over the top of the grab bar. Your two ends should be hanging down from the bar. Now use grab one end with one hand and the other end with your other hand. This way you can pull down really hard and scrub it good. That will look like a mirror when it's done too. Hopefully that made sense. If not I'll show you when you bring the KX over.

22x11x10 in the rear and 22x8x10 in the front. I like ground clearance!

Me to I'm excited to put the bigger wheels on a try to ride. Going from 18" to 22" will be a noticeable differenceI:I

Add the suspension to the mix it will feel like riding on a cloud in comparison!

And yeah I understand the concept mike! Kinda like drying ur back off with a towel right? Grab Both sides pull down hard and alternate hands up an down!

Exactly. Also with 22 inch tires you might want to run a 12 tooth front sprocket. The yellow blaster has a mostly stock motor with 22" tires and 12/40 gearing. You can ride it and see if you like it.

I was thinking about that today Im gonna get it ported and most likely stroked soon but I was thinking about what size chain and sprockets to buy for the swing arm and the 22" tires!

I would love to test the yellow one, just to have a comparison of what to expect!

The larger tire is better for top end, giving up a little low end right?

The smaller front sprocket would help gain back some of that bottom end lose right?

Yup. If you stroke it and port it you will probably be good with 13/40 gearing. Either way you can rip the yellow one up the street a couple times and see what you think.

Sounds like a plan. I think I'll order the 12/40 for now and 520 chain try that first I like the trails I don't wanna lose all my low end!
