Front A-arm boot rings

Anyone have any tricks for getting the metal ring back around the rubber boot on the front A-arm ball joints. That is a "pain in the you know what".

Yes, they are a pain. Put the boot on. Then sorta squish the boot so it gets smaller diameter and then push the snap ring over and start the end in the groove and sorta wind the snap ring into the groove. Be careful not to poke a hole in the boot. Oh, you must have the ball joint disconnected from the spindle.

Yep cleaning crud out and re-greasing the ball joint. But yes, do not want to poke hole in the boot. That's the not so easy part. Had a wife near by so I used one of those to help. lol
