Just figured I'd post a pic of my A arms and new shock set up. I got one side done and it turned out pretty good. just have to make new tie rods still.

Looks wild! Will soak up the big bumps now. It is a bit of a scary place to weld, in case of a breakage. At least that end of the A arm is not taking most of the weight, only the twisting and braking loads. A plug in the center of the tube helps to strengthen the weld. I've lengthened truck tie bars (for a lift) by sleeving a tube over the bar and welding into a couple drilled holes in the tube.

My son is working on a similar project right now on his Banshee.
Not a lot of encouragement on that forum...

I knew the strength of it would be brought up. I was waiting to see what everybody had to say.

I used 5/16" wall tube and turned the ends back on the lathe. so my extensions actally all engage (pretty tightly) into the factory tubing by about 3/8" at every joint. being that it's not just butt welded, I feel it will be plenty strong. plus the new shocks should be much softer and less shock on the A arms.

Here is my son's wide arm project. This is a Banshee with YFZ450R aftermarket arms:

Work still in progress. He stacks his Blasters and Banshees for storage room. Doesn't seem to hurt them.
