So my buddy thought his blaster blew his top end. After riding it it started to bog bad and not run. It also would backfire once when you would try to kick it over. We took the top end off thinking the skirt was broken but the top end was completely fine. We put it back together and now it won’t run at all. It will try to start for a second then die. It has compression, fuel, spark. The reeds were checked and completely fine. Carb was fully taken apart and cleaned. What could this be?

Possibly reeds.
Do a leak down test and retorque head and cylinder after heat cycles
Hope you used new gaskets

reeds were perfect. And yes new gaskets. Can’t get the heat cycles in cause it won’t run but when we rebuilt it we did to the torque after heat cycles. Flywheel key was also fine. Cleaned all the contact points on the fly wheel and stator. Still does same thing

We found the issue. We switched over wording harnesses and we are positive it was the voltage regulator box. Thanks for help

The voltage regulator is for the lights only. Has nothing to do with your coil. Unless you are talking about the cdi box

Did not know that. We switched all of the boxes that connect to the harness and it ran. But now it does the same thing again so I don’t know what to do now. Such a headache

Sounds like you have it down to electrical. Have you deleted the tors and parking brake switch?
