Blaster exhaust (FMF)

I have a 2002 blaster and installed a gold series fatty and power core silencer.the silencer sticks out too far in the back of my bike so I ground the rivitsrand cut the silencer down and riveted it back together after repacking it.is that OK? Will it f*ck my bike up?

I've done that to every silencer I've owned, won't hurt a thing
