I purchased an '03 blaster last weekend, it has some engine modifications: Vitos top end kit, reeds, paul turner pipe etc. The quad did not come with an air-box cover. Should I buy one for it, or should I run it without one?

Thanks guys,

jake

i have a 2002 yamaha blaster and alot of people told me to run it with out the air box cover, so i tryed it and it seems ike it bogs right down on top end with it off, and i put it back on and it works perfect

it bogged b/c you were getting too much air for all the more fuel you were getting. throw in a bigger jet to match the fuel increase to the air increase and it'll run good.

When I had the stock box my 400 would suffocate with the cover on. I couldn't believe the difference with it off I:I

leave it off for 2 reasons. 1 it feeds your blasty so much more so more power. 2, if you got it off, leave it off because its jetted and tuned to running with it off.

and yeah i never even new they came with 1 when ibought mine cuz it it didnt have it lol.
