call ken oconnor....860-230-5003 he fools with sleds and some vintage stuff and has accounts with wiseco and other suppliers. here's the only one for that year i see on ebay, and looks like you have competition for it...8 bids already............. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Arctic-Cat-...Parts_Accessories&hash=item53f181e9cb&vxp=mtr
yeah i have some. (Used but seem good) but i have an add up on my local cl for kitty parts and get asked all the time for a piston and rings or just rings.. i dont want to part with mine, even though i have 3 sets .. if i could find where to get some i could even out the supply and demand,, and yeah i seen the one on e bay.. these little pistons, i cant believe are going for so much $ i just rebuilt my lil ones kitty. i bought a half a sled with about 5 boxes of parts for 90$ so far i got 2 complete running motors. sold alot of stuff on e bay already. i cant believe how much some of this stuff went for. if u have 1 local like a 72 or 73 and u can get it for cheap jump on it. u can part it out and do pretty well. that or if u got a little one re do it, there pretty neat, i have xtra parts if u need. thanks for the tip though. im gonna try and give him a call and see. ill also give u a buzz a little later. i had to ground my boy last night from the cmp. he gets slick and uses the kindle so i had to disconect the router.. ((i wonder where he gets it from)) lol
i bypassed govenor and i cant get enough fuel from carb. i adjusted float have larger fuel line larger pet weiner but carb still starts to dry up.. i can use a tecumsah carb from a snow blower but it doesnt look right. im trying to keep it as original as i can. would a mini fuel pump work? or would that flood the bowl of the carb? i know ive seen mini fuel pumps somewhere but im not sure where.. than i could hide the pump under the tank and run it from the lights or something.
i researched a little more and these are used for mikunis i think, with a a float bowl for a kitty cat its a ben a while i could be wrong but i think it said the fuel pump itself has like a pressure thing to stop from flooding it. i will have to find it all again and update..
that thing went for over 160$$ wow. and those things are tiny. like a weed wacker.. hmm. i want to talk to ken and see if he could bore 1 of my cylinders out and find a little larger piston and rings to fit,,, that would work. than im sure i could find a carb that would work. hmm im thnkn $$$ for the both of us. and maybe the fastest kitty ever.. i like this idea.. ive got a stock kitty 72 (with original motor) with a few mods secret ones and soon as it snows here a litle, i will atach my gps to it and see how fast i can get it too go, u have to remember top speed is about 7 mph.(with governor.) i took mine of of course. just need more fuel to it. im sure its much faster than lots of kittys around..
not that any one here would probably be to interested in these pistons.buuuuuuut. i talked to weisco, and they will make them for me. or any other piston. only thing is there a minimum order of 200 or more...
I know this is an old thread. But I have rings for the 72-73 kitty engine. They were costly but I'd be wiling to sell a couple sets.
