I have a 1996 blaster that I am planning to extend +4 and put a 400ex rear shock on. The 400ex I found is from a 2012. Will this make a difference in the mods that will need to be done? I always see everyone talk about these shocks and the slight mods that need to occur but I have not heard anything about the year model of the shock. I don'the want to buy the wrong shock. Thanks for any help you can give.

I don't recall there being a difference between years. Actually just googled it, none.

Thanks for the info! I just bought a the 400ex shock. I'm looking forward to getting it on and see the difference . I also ordered the kit from oconnor. Any suggestions for bolt on front shocks without any mods? I was thinking raptor 660's I believe. Thanks!
You'd have to check the length.
