Seems like I have so many projects haha. Anyhow, the story on this goes: our friend who owned the bike dropped it off at my place so a friend from school could test ride it with me. Lack of any maintenance to the bike was the sad failure. First we ran out of gas because the guy is too cheap to fill it up. Then we had it going about 25 min and she died. Little oil seeping from gaskets I didn't know what was wrong so it came home. It blew a 30 on the compression tester. There was no coolant in the system and it overheated We bought the bike as-is so we wouldn't make anyone mad. Ordered a cylinder and top end kit today. Should be a quick fix once we have parts. Here is the bike, and reason we lost compression
Put new tire on rim, found out chain tigheners were tough to turn, accidentally broke one off. Going to try and weld a nut on tomorrow and back it out. If that fails we might need a new swinger ugh
Don't know about that model, but the KX 500 I'm working on the sliding insert in the swingarm is available separately.
Yes we found that option online. I just went to Menards where I work and picked up my own parts for a kit. Although standard not metric
Got the bike running yesterday. My dad and I spent about 1.5 hours putting it together. Way faster than I had expected. So anyone near 58601 want a kx250f? Give you a helluva deal!
