2005 blaster crank case oil issue

I have a 2005 blaster. The crank case calls for 22 oz of 10w40 oil.

When I put 12 oz in the crank case the oil level shows full on the sight glass. What could be wrong

It holds 650ml. Almost 3/4 of a quart.
Is it on level ground when draining and filling?

yes it is on level ground. It’s about 22 oz to fill it up but I only put 12 oz in it and the sight glass is showing full. I had the case off the bike and replaced the piston but there was no work done to the case.

Put 650ml in and be done.

I did that and the oil was pushing out the gaskets on the side case
