    Fresh rebuild issues…

I hear you, however, I’m running off of a previous build for jetting. As for the main jet size, it’s not even a factor in this particular instance. I agree with you on increasing the main size, but that’s not what’s causing this issue. The stumble and nose dive comes right at 1/2 way through the...

    Fresh rebuild issues…

Ok gents, got an interesting one for you. Got finished up porting and polishing an OEM cylinder and it almost feels like I’m hitting a rev limiter about halfway through the throttle curve. Absolutely cannot get it to build rpms. I’ve dropped the clip position thinking I just wasn’t getting...

    brakes

If you decide the conversion is too much hassle there’s a really good sticky on tuning the cable set up. I think it’s under the “Brakes” subcategory within “Suspension”.

    I’m at a loss

Any updates on this? I’m leaning towards the reeds/carb myself. I ran a Vito’s blue needle in my bike with a full FMF exhaust but I had to run a 310 main and actually dropped to a 30 pilot. That was with dual stage carbon reeds as well, though. I’d have to agree with Shee’s early statement...

    A arm gussets

Not sure I'm clear on which gusset you're referring to, but you might find it here... https://www.blasterforum.com/threads/gusset-placement-with-diagram.39688/

What the F%$# happened to MacDizzy's website?!

Damn. That's a bummer. Years of knowledge locked away.

Help! DIY full frame skid plate

I should have some dimensions by this evening... got a wild hair.

99 Blaster Engine Rebuild (seeking advice)

I would have to second the bearings and seals vote. As long as you're in there, you may as well knock them out. Crank bearings aren't the cheapest, but well worth it. Last thing you want to do is get it sealed up only to burn up a bottom end.

What the F%$# happened to MacDizzy's website?!

Not that I hate the French (I do), but what happened to MacDizzy's? That was an amazing resource! Does anyone have an alternate? I understand losing your domain, but that's sacrilege. People die over sh#% like that.

    Aftermarket Clutch Basket Characteristics

Just a quick update... After a wise comment by a friend as we were running pretty hard on asphalt, I can say that the majority (if not entire) of the "clutch slippage" that I felt was in fact tire spin. LOL With a 4" extended swingarm I felt nothing in the front end. I'm not sure what that says...

    Aftermarket Clutch Basket Characteristics

Good point. All new, but I did not count them. I guess I just assumed. Really haven’t ridden it more than an hour or so either. I’ve never experienced a “break in” period with new clutch packs, but could that be a possibility?

    Aftermarket Clutch Basket Characteristics

I didn’t look at the pressure plate. What is the minimum thickness on those? I may be able to find it in the service manual. I didn’t think of that. Free play was a little tight to begin with, but I adjusted it back out thinking I wasn’t allowing enough travel for the clutch to engage fully. No...

    Aftermarket Clutch Basket Characteristics

All were doubled checked after first noticing the slipping. I bought the Vito’s High Performance Clutch Kit, and I believe it comes with Tusk friction plates. Both the friction plates and steels were soaked in 10W-40 for almost two days prior to install. Admittedly, I didn’t look at the grooving...

    Aftermarket Clutch Basket Characteristics

After replacing my clutch a week o so ago, I began feeling this thing slipping quite a bit when shifting high and hard. Thought maybe I hadn't gotten the adjustment just right and pulled the cover to do it again. No change. I've got a stock clutch basket with "heavy duty" springs from Vito's...

    New Carb

Another thing to remember is what you're describing as "bogging" can occur when you are way too lean as well. If it's dying out right at the beginning of your throttle curve, I wouldn't mess with the main jet until you can get to it. At the front, you're running on the pilot and jet needle...

Different HEADS that fit the Blaster cylinder!

I smell a data set on the horizon... Let's see some numbers! LOL Who cares where it's from! Bolt it on and throw some fuel to it! Seriously though, that's a damn good looking head. Appears to be high quality just going of the fit and finish. I am curious where it came from, but definitely would...

    Best Blaster mods

The most drastic increase in power, outside of a full exhaust, I've experienced from a single mod has been a port and polish. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself KOR will get you set up with something you or I couldn't compete with anyway. LOL I've not done it just yet, but I'm told...

Where can I buy the large round mikuni main jets size 250,260,270,and 280. I only seem to find 240

Vito's also offers a jet kit that's a nice selection for about $30. Genuine Mikuni and I think it gives you 5 main selections, 2 pilots, and a Vito's "performance" needle (no idea on the taper or how it compares, runs great in my bike though).

Awk touched on it, but I would double check your float height as well.
