Yes I am.. just making sure the clearance is good. I got a new piston and cylinder on my trade and now that everything is completely apart just making sure everything is good.

Just want to confirm piston/cylinder clearance for a Wiseco 67.5mm piston. Manual says 0.0014 - 0.0016 Does this measurement also apply for a forged piston?

The image above is the spare clutch basket (stock) one I had. I still have to open up the Hinson one that was on the bike. I started and the bolts are a _______ to get off. I drilled the end to removed the flare.. Probably will have to apply some heat. I will let you know what it looks like when...

Banshee clutch basket rubber cushions are round.. after opening mine up there are 2 round ones and the other 4-6 are "D" shaped.

I checked online and even the parts fiche at my local Yamaha dealer for the clutch and it doesn't look like the sell the rubber grommets I have an extra clutch basket but that one also has play between basket and gear.

Ya I know that. I assume the play is from worn out grommets.. I will be removing the screws to inspect grommets, but if they are worn out.. where can I purchase new ones?

Anyone know or have any tricks on how to remove the counter balancer bearing on the stator side of the case? the bearing on the clutch side is easy as it is open on both sides.. but stator side its only open on one side. Do i need a puller of some sort. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I will have to split the case the change the shift drum.. unless i weld the shift star to the end of the shaft. I am leaning on splitting the case so i can inspect everything on the transmission side.

Thats the thing i don't need the whole cage. $39.99 plus shipping is a bit steep. I was hoping maybe someone had an extra reed cage hanging around and could make me a good deal.

So I opened up my clutch cover and removed the clutch basket and this is what I found.. See pics. Shift star on the left was in the quad and the one on the right is a spare I have. Can the better shift star we welded or should i just split the case and inspect the transmission for any other...

Blaner, Did you ever find out what the issue was? I know this is an old post. I am having similar issue.

Is there suppose to be play in the clutch basket and the gear at the back.. also is the clutch boss suppose to make that grinding noise?
