TORS idle screw and replacement carbs

Get rid of it and get a new cap and cable, then drill and tap a idle screw into the carb. It's easy to do.

    Low compression

Just my two cents but I would get a factory cylinder and have it bored along with a wiesco piston kit. Those chinese cylinders off of ebay are usually not very good.

Metal chunks came out of my exhaust??!!!

Any pics?? My guess is the silencer is rusted inside and breaking up. If it was anything from inside the engine it should be making noise or vibrating horribly.

    What year is my motor?

With the numbers you gave you won't find anything online. It's been searched a thousand times. If you know someone at a dealership they might be able to help as those numbers on the engine were for warranty issues and other things. Good luck in your search.

    What year is my motor?

Those numbers on the engine block don't tell us consumers anything. I think they were for dealer purposes. The frame has a vin# on it and the 10th digit is the year.
