    Tire won’t stay tight

    Are you using a castle nut on your axle to secure the hub? My understanding is that this should never be a problem even if you don't properly torque that nut down necessarily, because that pin should prevent the nut from coming off. Did it sheer that clean off?

    Stopping a thief

    Just put some spent shotgun shells everywhere! But also on a serious note you could take one of those lock up plugs that screw into the spark plug hole and stop the piston before TDC. Takes probably 2 minutes and might discourage a thief.:cool:

    IMO instead of steel, you should use aluminum. Not only for the lightweight factor, but also because it would be easier to work with and shape/bend. Either way you'll manage so just keep on :)
