Need some advice on a head design

That head looks dialed in tight! What was the final chamber volume? Give us a list of all your modifications, so we can help with jetting. Just for fun, you could start with a bone stock head, ride a bit, then try the re-chambered head to see the difference. A head swap won't change your...

Need some advice on a head design

Did you disassemble the engine and bore the cylinder when you replaced the piston? Or, just install a piston in a used bore?

Need some advice on a head design

The attached file on the left is the one your looking for. Or there about. Don't get hung up on numbers when calculating head chamber cc's. In my personal experience, and I've done about 40-50 head designs and re-chamberings, if you keep the cc's in the 21cc to 26cc range (preferably around...

Need some advice on a head design

I encourage you to re-chamber your blaster head! Its a learning experience. Its fun. You learn something, and you receive fruits for your labor. The stock chamber shape is a very poor design for squeezing power out of the power stroke. Make it a "Hemi", keep it around 23 cc's (+ or -), set the...

    Opinions on this used cylinder

That cylinder will need freshened up. It needs measured for roundness, taper, bore diameter, etc. That's a very mild clean up, and those boysen ports that were added are very tiny. I think this cylinder has potential with more work. I would suggest getting the porting templates offered from Ken...

    Rechambering the head

I haven't been on the Blaster Forum for almost two weeks. Thanks for the heads up on the head Steve. I need to start riding more, but am always really busy with the new house we are renovating and working all the time. I'm not sure if I mentioned it before, but Ive been working at the Tesla...

01 blaster bogs and stalls upon throttle engagement

No need for a kehin 28. The stock mikuni vm26 works awesome and is easy to tune. Get the TORS wiring issue handled and jet it properly. Start with a fresh plug, CLEAN carb...inside and out. set the float level to factory specs, make sure you have a cleaned and properly oiled air filter, and...

    Confused about oil

If there is a oil tank under the rear fender, and the blaster is running fine, I would stick to using the factory Yamaha oil injection system. Its a solid system that works great. The only thing that screws it up is operator error. Just keep oil in the tank. Top it up before, or after you ride...

    Sounds like marbles

Crap happens. It'll be fine. Easy fix.

    Sounds like marbles

After looking at the photos again, I still stand by my review. There is no way that cylinder has 20 hours on it.

    Sounds like marbles

Thank you for posting the video and photos. It helps a ton... It sounds like a loose piston in the bore to me. When I look at the photos of the piston skirt on the exhaust side, there is a BUNCH of scuffing. That in turn, reduced the diameter of the piston at the skirt area, which in turn has...

    Sounds like marbles

When you rebuilt it, did you re-bore your stock cylinder, or did you pick up a top end kit from ebay?

    Picked up another Blaster

Why not just start out fresh and replace everything as a complete set? This is the correct way to do it and not terribly expensive. You'll also have piece of mind.

    Blaster vs 250

Why wait? You could do just the head, which is a simple bolt on and notice a big improvement. 6 nuts and the head is off. Only 4 base nuts and the cylinder can be shown some magic. :) You wont regret it...

    Blaster vs 250

OK...Now its time for some porting, head re-chambering, and proper jetting. This will double your stock factory output of 16-17hp to around 30 hp.
