    Building an Adjustable/Tune able CDI

I'm ready for one. How much are we looking at? If they need assembly I can do that I've been building and running Megasquirt for 20+ years.

    Building an Adjustable/Tune able CDI

Damn I thought this thread alerted me when someone posted. I'm still interested if it's not to late.

Where are you located? I have an FMF but I don't know if it's worth shipping.

Looking to rechamber my head. What C/R should I shoot for 92 octane?

With a 28cc chamber I calculate over 10:1 C/R. With the pinging I'm getting I believe I'm way above what it cane handle. I cut a toroidal chamber in it and my squish is .040 to .045 widening from outside in. The pipe is a full custom mad by LED Performance in Gresham Or. Send me an email...

Looking to rechamber my head. What C/R should I shoot for 92 octane?

I've got a ported 240 (at 73mm), Hot Rods +4mm crank, V4 reeds Lectron carb, custom made pipe and a rechambered head with I believe a 28cc chamber. I cut the head a couple years ago and wrote the chamber size on it but can't read it now. But I believe my C/R is to high. I've got it apart now and...

    Building an Adjustable/Tune able CDI

Easiest way for me is posting the link. After hours of searching I found somewhere that Yamaha puts the wiring diagram in the owners manuals. Then found that Yamaha Au. has PDFs on their site for free download After more searching I found that the 1988 DT200 has the wiring diagram. Here's the...

    Building an Adjustable/Tune able CDI

Oops. After looking again I found the CDI, Harness, stator and flywheel with the rest of my DT200 parts. Looks to me like if I install the DT200 stator, flywheel, and CDI all I need to do is hook the orange wire to the coil and it should run.

    Building an Adjustable/Tune able CDI

Glad to see you're still here. And it looks like I'll be digging thru my DT200 stuff. I bought a complete DT200 engine with a bad top end I just need to find the pieces I'll need to convert it over. I don't want to take the time right now to build my own and I believe Yamaha parts will be more...

    Building an Adjustable/Tune able CDI

Hey guys I had to go get a shovel to dig this post up. Is there anyone still thinking about this? Rubbersalt any news? Best I have a DT200 CDI. Does it need a battery or will it run without? Thanks guys.

    Building an Adjustable/Tune able CDI

Great to hear about the progress. I haven't made any in my bike. I did manage to get the new motor in my 74 Corolla (but that's another story). My bike has sat all summer because of the heat issues (well that and I had a DRZ400 and my FZ09 to ride ll summer). I'd really like to make some...

    Building an Adjustable/Tune able CDI

Rubbersalt I have an adjustable stator already. If I need more adjustment than I already have I also have a grinder and I'm not afraid to use it. Let me know as soon as you have something ready and we'll get some testing done.

    Building an Adjustable/Tune able CDI

Rubbersalt, I haven't seen any response here so I figured I'd make an offer. I'd really like to test this. I'll even pay for shipping. Just let me know what kind of tests you'd like done.

    Ignition curve

I don't think it's a problem with the stator as this is the second one. I think I stated earlier (not sure but not going to dig either) I changed everything when I did this motor. I have the old engine sitting on a shelf in the garage and the only parts I would have to put back are the carb...

Hey Best PM me with an email address. I tried the one from before and it bounced.

    Ignition curve

I'm not sure what the deals is. The temp just starts to creep up as I cruise. I need to see if it is actually retarding at idle. I may not have the idle low enough to see it advance. I didn't realize the advance come on so low (or the retard goes away). I've been through about everything on this...

    Ignition curve

Rubbersalt Thanks for your response. I read your post last week and would be very interested in one of your adjustable units. My motor is a little special tho. I need more advance and I believe with our setup that would be possible. I have an adjustable stator already running about +8. The motor...

    Ignition curve

Yeah I know I'm digging up an old post but I'm having trouble with my Blaster. After checking the timing with my light I'm not seeing any advance. I've tried about everything but this thing has been showing signs of retarded timing for a while. Any ideas why I wouldn't get advance? Thanks.

    Help with timing.

Here's an earlier post listing the advance curve. http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/ignition-curve.51494/#post-648263

    Help with timing.

Older 2 strokes had a mechanical advance. If you have no way to advance or retard the timing to run enough timing for power you won't be able to kick it over without it kicking back. The CDI is supposed to retard at low RPM and allows it to advance higher in the revs. Right now I have advanced...
