I might try polishing the shaft...I also have a second shaft lying around, I might try that one tonight and see if it fits better.

I know there shouldn't be any resistance, and I don't think that the oil seal will leak. Its more of an alignment problem through the cases.

I bought a blaster with the case broken around the shifter. Had it welded up and the alignment of the shift shaft is slightly off...there is a small amount of resistance when trying to shift it on the bench. I haven't added any oil to the transmission yet, but when I shift it either up or...

Are the only differences between the years is a switch to a 4 vs 3 wires coming out of the stator and the plastic? Does everything swap between all years? A swingarm, a-arm, steering stem, footpeg, gas tank, etc. from any year will fit any other year? If I was gonna slap an 88 motor in...

What do you guys look for when inspecting a crankshaft? I came across a spare bottom end and I want to determine whether to split the cases or just slap a jug on it and use it. Thanks!

I tried it dry and with some silicone...I think I am going to try the dual gasket idea and see if it works...if not, I guess I will look into purchasing a new intake. I will let you all know, thanks for the responses.
