just pulled the motor from my buddy's new project blaster, so lemme pull this flywheel today, then it'll be a week or so till i need it again,
pm me your shipping info and you can borrow mine, but i'll need it back asap ?????

and fug this heat, feels like busco last year !!!!!!
I live in the killington area still just bought a house in rutland we should go riding sometime I finally found a blaster!
I am honestly not sure what I did that took care of it, but it's back running. I went through everything with a fine tooth comb. checked the flywheel and cleaned everything there. I then went through the carb one more time, blowing everything out again. Next took apart the reed valves and cleaned them. I even blew through the exaust with my blow gun! Reassembled everything with care. cleaned out the gas tank and mixed new gas. Drained the oil injection tank and lines and put new oil in there. Started it up and it runs great! I didn't do anything that I hadn't done before that I can think of other than drain the gas and oil, so, I am thinking that it may have been that.
do you think that it is possible that bad reed valves can cause a very rich condition and complete lack of power?
I did the leak down test just as in the video and it held 6.5 psi for 5 minutes and is still holding
I have oil in the tank still. I will go and run another leakdown test as you showed me and I will be back
The white smoke went away yesterday for a little bit and it started to run a little better when I disconnected the oil injection line to the carburetor. I have mixed fuel in the tank just for caution sake while I a working on it. With the hose disconnected and the port not plugged it seemed to run better
I am very confident in my mechanical abilities, and I also have all of the tools necessary to do any repairs
I blocked off the intake and the exhaust and went through the spark plug in the head for the leak down test
I am out of things to try. it seems like when it is sitting in the shop and I rev it up, it just seems like this is going to be the time it runs great. An then it doesn't!!!
Here is what I have done: Compression 120 psi. I have tested the electrical system and replaced the primary coil. I just did a leak down test on the crankcase and it held 8.5 psi for 10 minutes. I went through the carb and it seems fine. I pulled out the reed and flipped over the stock reed plate as it didn't seem that it was sealing very well.
Here is what is going on: it starts and idols fine. absolutely no power and mid or high end! extremely rich and smoking white
