Hey Folks

New to the forum. I will be posting my build progress here. I have been out of the blaster game for a long time so will be hopeful to lean on the experts here for tips and ideas.

Backstory:

Bought my 2006 SE brand new when I was 16 and got my first job in 2006 . Fast forward now and I just got my blaster back. its in pretty rough shape. My plans are to restore this and be able to have fun with it and eventually hand down to my kids.

I hope to be pretty frugal while smart with this build as its near and dear to my heart. I will get some pics tomorrow of the quad as it sits. My plan is as followed below so far. To be updated

Trail/Pit fun. Small Jumps

Build Ideas
Frame - Gloss black powder coat
Plastics - Black SE with purple graphics.

+2 swing arm - need a good brand. Found 58sswingarmshop on ebay
+3 Alba A-Arms
Rear axle - thinking banshee ? Trying to figure out what best size is to run with these A-arms. I want to widen the bike just enough. Dont need a ton.
Suspension Front - Elka maybe? I just want plug and play and not a ton of fabrication for suspension. BUT it needs an upgrade.
Suspension Rear - Elka maybe? I just want plug and play and not a ton of fabrication for suspension. BUT it needs an upgrade.
TOR delete
Engine - Will talk to oconnor and have it built right. Its been rebuilt once.
Exhaust - already has a b1 on it.
Intake - unknown heard mixed review. CFM? heard good and bad things. Im in NC it can get a tad sloppy. The bike will be taken car of and detailed but also ridden.
front bumper -Alba racing black
Wheels / tires - unknown now - black
handlebar - unknown now -

Cant think of a ton more for now. Will update. I just got the bike home so trying to put together a game plan.

Your build sounds much like mine I just did on my 99. I went z400 rear shock and yfz450 fronts. Much better than stock without braking the bank. I would have went Elka or similar but for the price I couldn’t pass on the yfz fronts. They are going to get setup by my local racetech suspension specialist. Just haven’t gotten to that point yet. I have way to many irons in the fire haha. Have fun with build. Post pics.
