Hello,

I bought my 2006 Blaster pretty much bone stock a couple months ago and have already upgraded a lot on it. The one thing that wasn’t stock when I bought it was the pipe as it came with a DMC Alien. I ride in a river bed that has everything from wood trails to pretty deep coarse sand and although I prefer the wood trails we have to ride through the deep sand to get there. When riding through the sand she bogs down and doesn’t really like to stay up on the pipe and I’m thinking about getting a port and head re-chamber done but wanting to know if I should upgrade to a different pipe or if sticking with the Alien would be better.

I really like the Toomey B1 pipes. Have never run Alien pipe but I've read several members prefer it for good all around trail riding. Great mid to top on the Toomey fits my riding style for trails and ripping around on local roads

Thanks for the feedback, originally when I’d settled on getting a blaster I was looking at the Toomey System as everyone recommends them and loves them. I really enjoy the Alien for trail ripping and the power is great just was hoping to maybe see if the Toomey keeps that low end grunt but adds a little up top too.

It’s got holeshot 20x11-8, gearing I went to a 14/40, it’s got the block off plate in it, running 32:1, and Boyesen Pro series Reeds. As far as what I’ve road it’s been a mix of everything, grew up riding enduro’s and racing hare scrambles every once in a while on late 70’s early 80’s gt80’s yz80’s yz125’s now I own a XT550 for more daily use

Might grab a 13 front sprocket and see how I like that, think for now I’m going to stick with the DMC and send my spare head/cylinder off for porting and head work. More power always fixes the issue right lol

Yup. It will pull that 14 alittle better.
More power always fixes things but causes other things. But it's more fun

So reading threads on here I was curious if someone has the dyno sheets for the DMC Alien. I would like to compare it to the Toomy but I am really having a hard time finding anything.

There is a pipe shootout article in the engine section (I think) that might have what you’re looking for.

DMC Alien is a low-Mid pipe , You would be more happy with the toomey- I have owned both and with mods the toomey will perform better for sure.
That’s what I had been hearing. We do a lot of trail riding with some dune trips a few times a year. So I was leaning more towards the DMC. I was hoping to see a dyno to help better decide.

Currently running the DMC still and went ahead and have started collecting upgrades for other area’s and eventually will put a right bend pipe on it, love the DMC for trail riding and it’s definitely a mid/low pipe that pulls like crazy, at the little hair scramble track I ride every once in a while it’s nice to have the bottom end but still will pull me around the dunes decently just not screaming fast lol

Did you port the cylinder?

I have a spare head/cylinder that were sent off to KOR for port work/head re-chamber sitting in a box ready to go on along with VForce 4 reed cage, pro design boot and Kehin 34mm PJ. Me and a buddy are going to try to 3D print an insert that will fit inside stock AirBox housing (with slight modification) to adapt to a bigger air filter so kinda waiting on time to do that

Also need to order the correct jets/needle for the PJ just havnt done that yet, this sight is a wealth of knowledge though and I’ve learned a lot from lurking in the background haha
