Bought a 01 blaster it’s all there but the motor wasn’t shifting properly so I split the cases. The piston is shot the cylinder has some deep grooves or scoring. And i have no idea why it wasn’t shifting everything looked fine. Only thing that I could think of was the shift forks are worn or bent slightly at this point I think I’d be better of buying a working motor or atleast a complete bottom end and buy a new top end rebuild kit. I’m in Wisconsin but willing to pay for shipping. I’m also brand new to the site so I hope I’m posting this right.

We’re you trying to ride it and it wouldn’t shift?

How good of a mechanic are you?
If you do it yourself DO NOT use an egay/Amazon kit.
Get a Clymers repair manual or use the PDF in the general repair section.

Very few places I would trust to build an engine. Or sell a “running “ engine

Yes Larry it would shift into first no problem but after that u would shift up and nothing it sounds like it shifted but u we’re ether in first still or neutral once in a while I’d find 3rd or 4th gear

I'm more than happy to help you repair your bottom end and get you back going, I have an engine here that a fella was having issues getting sealed up, turned out it had a few worn parts inside and Luckily I have spares here from damaged case bottom ends I've purchased over the years, Feel free to message me if interested in having yours repaired, Have one going back to ohio soon once parts get here lol
