Hey all, I’m doing my first rebuild on a blaster engine. I’ve got the case sides, so now I’m trying to install the spring/lever that rides on the star side of the shift drum, and the lever is at an angle as if the drum isn’t in far enough, but it looks like if it goes in farther it won’t have room to spin? Very confusing because I also have another blaster (we have 3 we’re rebuilding and they’re all dissembled) that I’m looking at and it does appear that it needs to go in further to match the other one, it just confuses me bc it looks like it needs to spin? I guess I just need help understanding how that works but I do suspect it needs to go in farther as the gear on the top trans shaft can move back and forth as well. I’ve attached some pics as well. Thanks for the help as always!

Loosen the bolt some .Pry arm down with a screwdriver roller needs to be on the star. Don't force anything. There is a shoulder on that bolt if i remember correctly. Make sure the hole in the arm is on the shoulder correctly when tightening
