How’s it goin?

My overflow tube was dumping fuel overnight, so I took the carb out for a cleanup….

Long story short, I cannot get the main jet out. After removing the top brass nut with a wrench, I was expecting the other half too fall out of the bottom. Well that isn’t the case, any ideas how to remove it? I prefer not too drill, as aftermarket carbs on Amazon and eBay are a little scary considering half of them don’t work when people install them.

Any input or advice would be much appreciated

If you are talking about the main jet holder/emulsion tube it pushes up towards the slide for removal. There are several tiny holes on the side of it that need to be clean

Make sure that the main jet, washer, and slosh baffle is off. Be very careful, it could be stuck. Use a drift punch, or better yet a small wood dowel to drive it out. Or plastic. Even if you have to whittle something down.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I went to my local powersports dealer an brought it to the parts department, I had confused the “piece falling out” with the pilot jet. Lmfao rookie mistake, I’m new to this hobby but not too mechanics….my first time tinkering with this carb.

I ordered a rebuild kit from my local dealer, and rebuilt the carb, as I left the original press fitted piece in below the main jet. The main jet was replaced though, as well as the float needle. Took it on a ride yesterday, problem solved! My float needle was worn ( the tip showed signs of age ) As of now the overflow tube is no longer leaking. Problem solved ( hopefully for good )

I appreciate the replies! Thanks for the input

Float needle will do it.
This ethanol fuel is rough on things. Especially if left to sit.
Glad you got it going

I hope you installed the proper Jets. Rebuild kit would only have stock Jets, if you have ANY mods, you didn’t have stock jetting.
