Goin on every 1, new to this forum, av had a 2004 blaster sitting in my garage for around 10years, sure I had only been on it a few hours when I first got it.

Any way ive decided to tear this thing down n start fresh to pass on to my son and have a little fun myself along the way,

Everything is getting either replaced, repowdered or replated want this thing look brand new again but a lot nicer and better,

The complete engine has been shipped over to Ken oconner to be rebuilt n have some work done already should have been there last Monday, UPS takin the piss as always, I broke the quad down this morning getting everything rear to send to the painters, need to order lots of parts,

After any ideas, advice, parts or pictures of your own customised blasters for ideas,

Thanks and hello,

Bike is all stripped down ready for inspection, parts list, powder and plating, on inspection of some the parts, the swing arm has the X crack underneath and the front shocks are not existent.

Stripped the wire loom down last night n started to started to revmove all the excess wires not need, only want the loom for the bike to run and 2 kill switch, standard button type and a tether kill swith,

all wires for lights, tors and parking brake are now removed,, to be honest they was alf removed on the bike anyway but everything was still hanging bout n looked a mess, so got rid off all that to tidy it up, check continuity to all wires for any shorts, replaced all connections and heat shrunk everythin

Hey Mark, is there no point having it rewelded, where and how much was the extended arm mate.

Yeah sll sorted thanks to u, nice 1 lad, colours am thinking is frame either gloss or matt black, a arms n swing arm candy orange, all other components are gona be black, candy orange n chrome, everythin will be getting done, undecided on the plastics yet, was thinkin white to be honest wanted the change the plastics all together to say yfz450s, not feeling the square n boxiness of the originals looks to old for the rest of the bike when it's complete, I need all new shocks any ideas, best 1s or best place to get them, obv Elkas are the 1s but the prices are fortunes, n am throwing quite a bit at this as it is,

The. Honda 400ex rear shock is a popular swap. The shocks can be found pretty cheap on flebay ect. Ride quality is way better than the stock blaster shock.
Ken occoner racing sells the adapter bushing for the top of the shock for cheap.
Drill bottom hole on shock to 12mm.and done.
I run works shocks with remote resies
Up front.

There only 1 ex rear shock I can see on the bay for £200 in the states, not much about over the water here

Wonder if they would post this to Ken oconner if it would be be cheaper to send back over my engine from him

They are good shocks. They seem to be getting a little pricey lately.
Smidity racing has all the parts for them when its time for a rebuild. Seals , bladders, rods ect

Probably best getting a rebuild on them before I put them on how much is a rebuild on then do you know wouldn't I be better off buyin a new set do ya think
