Hey guys so I’m new in the forum but I have used a lot of information from them to fix my blaster. So I just got it back from a shop with a new clutch case and gaskets and seals. I also had a new clutch installed. But, the guy said that it had lower compression than normal- about 100 psi when it should be 120. The bike runs and rides and has pretty good power. Do u think I need new rings and piston? Or should I just ride in hopes of the best. I dropped a video below of it running, see if you notice any issues- it has a bit of knocking but I did some research and saw that all of these have some.

edit- I do not know how to put videos on this lol

It will be time for a topend rebuild soon.
100 is low. You will have lower power with lower compression.
Refreshing the topend on 2 strokes is part of maintenance.

alright, and what are you thinking? piston, rings? and do you think I'll be fine to ride it for the time being?

Start. With fresh bore and piston. That way all clearancing is correct.

As for riding? You may be ok? Or not?. But if you do have. Noticeable piston slap and a cast piston then be careful . the piston skirt does break off and can cause some serious damage. Forged pistons are definitely stronger. But cast is fine for some also as long as maintenance is done on time.

alright. you know any good kits on ebay? I know wiseco is good. Also, you think I could rebuild it? I've never really built one of these engines before, only little 80cc bikes lol. I don't have a bunch of moeny either, maybe $175?

I'm going to get a wiseco top end kit with piston and cylinder. Ill lyk if I have any issues.

Those cheap kits on egay are junk. And blow up more often than not.
Your best choice is ussualy boring your original oem cylinder.its a high quality piece.ask your local machine shop . they can measure what you have now as far as cylinder and piston clearance and go from there.

I know the cheap egay kits are tempting
but not worth the money

the wiseco kits are supposed to be very good and the head is oem. It’s $250.

Good luck. Do acouple heat cycles. And retouqe head and cylinder before riding.good idea to do a leakdown test. After assembly to verify yoy have ni air leaks.check jetting with plug chops

Let r rip
