First time Blaster owner and rebuild thread.

Day 7: Had about another hour of free time today. Took off the exhaust system, got the A-Arms out finally. Disconnected the throttle cable and brake cables. Stuck on the tie rods, trying to figure out how to free them up without ruining them.

Day 8: Finally got the tie rods out without damaging the boot. Decided against having the frame PC or professionally painted. Paying a couple hundred for it wouldn’t be worth it to me. I barely ride, only fell into this project because I bought a quad to play in the snow with for a day and blew it up. So here I am:

Here is a before of the frame:

Paint was actually in pretty good shape, must have been painted recently. I decided to sand down some of the rust spots, hit it with primer, then rattle can gloss black.

here are some after shots:

Good 'till the next time !! Not all of us can afford PC. I wish I could find A good match to the yellow they used on the purple Blasters, I think it'd look good with my blue plastic.

Day 9: Didn’t really get anything done today. I’m stuck waiting for parts/motor.

KOR called me yesterday. Motor is complete all in a day from receiving it. He said it was the fastest turn around on an engine he’s ever done.

I also ordered a toomey B1 full exhaust and XFR nerf bars with heel guards. Very excited to start putting this back together!

I need extended a arms which seemed to be sold out everywhere. That’s the only thing holding me back from getting her together and riding while I slowly change over the shocks, swing arm, axle, and brake conversion.

Here’s a pic of the blaster while I wait..

That's definitely a quick turnaround

Oh yeah, Ken received the engine at 1030am on Tuesday. He called me at 12:37 on Wednesday saying he was finishing up and will be sending it out in the morning. Very grateful and excited to see his work.

It will be a different animal after the porting. You should do acouple heat cycles before taking it out and riding it.
Oh yea don't forget to warm it up first:p

ha ha. That is top priority this time. :D

will be doing heat cycles for sure, spoke to Ken yesterday about that.

he also balanced my crank, replaced bearings, main seals, along with the port, polish, and re chambered the head and wiseco piston kit. Should be a fun little blaster.

Night and day difference with that b1 pipe.
You will need to jet for that pipe. Very important

You will need to plug chop to confirm jetting.you don't want to run too lean. Top end killer.
Cold temps need bigger jetting
Than summer jetting

yes sir. Unfortunately, I’m not
Sure my kill switch works. I’m not sure how to go about the process without a kill switch. I suppose I could put the choke on to shut the motor off

Day 10: This morning I painted the swing arm (rattle can) it’s not going to last at all. But, who cares.

I also received my motor back from KOR today. He received it Tuesday (10:30am) rebuilt the bottom end (new seals, balanced, etc) and port, polish, rechambered head with wiseco piston kit, shipped it out Thursday morning and arrived today at 2pm. I put it on the frame, tomorrow going to bolt the swing arm back up and secure the motor. All I’m waiting for is the Toomey B1 and my XFR nerf bars. The only thing preventing me from riding is no a arms, I’ll find some soon.
