Hello. New to owning a blaster also new to forums. I’m from the UK and I’ve noticed it is much harder to get parts for Blasters. I would like to do an engine rebuild for piece of mind but I would like to use the wiseco oversize piston. I know I will need to get the cylinder bored but is there anything else I need to take into consideration? For example does the con rod need changing or any other components ? It’s a 2004
TIA

Definitely check the rod when you have the cylinder off. Rod cannot be changed unless crank is removed and pressed apart. Best left for the machine shop
Look for any up and down play.
Some side to side is normal.
Look for discoloration on small and big end of rod which can indicate excessive heat.
New wristpin bearing(doesn't come with piston on some)
Gaskets
Crank seals might not be a bad idea as it's an 04 unless they have been changed recently.

Thanks for the reply it’s much appreciated. In terms of stroke should nothing change using the wiseco piston ? Someone said I need to make sure it doesn’t change the stroke because I could have issues

Stroke will not change if correct piston is used.
Buy the piston for a blaster and no worries
Stock bore is 66mm
Can go up to 68mm

Thats a 1.00mm. Oversize piston. That should be a 67mm piston.
Do you know what your bore is right now?
You should let who ever is boring it measure your cylinder to see what your current bore is first before ordering

I believe my current bore is standard. But are you saying this Incase it’s been bored already ?

I was saying that because if it's never been bored then going 1mm over. You will. Lose
Alot of life on your cylinder.
You really need to see what the bore is now before buying a piston.
Otherwise you do not know what size yiu need

Have cylinder bore measured.
Machinist will tell what size piston you need.
You order correct size.
Machinist bores/ hones to fit THAT piston.

Make sure he knows that it's a forged piston, they need a hair more clearance.
